Fair questions, straight answers
What counts as a “site”?
One connected WordPress installation — one install of the connector plugin. Multisite networks count each sub-site that you actually connect and manage. Staging copies you connect count too, so most agencies only connect production.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Every new account starts with a 14-day Studio trial and no card is taken. After it the Free tier is genuinely free for up to three sites with all fifteen modules — help desk, AI credits and client billing included — and you can run it forever. You only add payment details when you upgrade to a paid tier.
What are AI credits?
One currency for every model-backed action: a help desk diagnosis, a re-run, an “Ask AI” on a security finding, or a deep answer in the help panel each cost one credit. Ordinary help-panel answers from the docs cost nothing. Credits are charged before the run and refunded if it fails, they reset on your billing day, and they don’t roll over. Every plan includes a monthly allowance — 20 on Free, 50 on Studio, 250 on Agency, 1,000 on Scale — and Settings → AI usage shows the ledger. Buying extra credits mid-month isn’t available yet; upgrading your plan is.
Is the Help Desk extra?
No. The Help Desk, the client portal, custom portal domains and estimates are part of every tier, including Free. Your clients don’t need accounts or passwords — they sign in with a magic link — and there is no per-agent or per-client charge.
How does client billing work without a fee?
Because WPClientHub is never in the payment path. Connect your own Stripe account by pasting a restricted API key — we create the customers, subscriptions and invoices in your Stripe, payouts go to your bank, and you pay only Stripe’s normal processing rates. Don’t use Stripe? Invoice directly: WPClientHub raises numbered PDF invoices with your bank, ACH, UPI or PayPal details and any payment link, emails them, chases them, and you mark them paid. There is no platform fee on any plan, including Free.
Can I buy more AI credits mid-month?
Yes. Top-up packs — 100 credits for $9 or 500 for $39 — are available on every plan from Settings → AI usage, paid through the same Paddle checkout as your subscription and credited the moment the payment completes. Plan credits reset monthly; top-up credits are spent after them and never expire.
Where are my backups stored, and do they count against a quota?
On the client’s own server first, and then wherever you tell us — an S3-compatible bucket (AWS, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, Cloudflare R2) or an SFTP host you own. The connector builds each restore point into a web-denied directory inside wp-content, streams a copy to your storage, and WPClientHub receives the manifest, the checksums and the outcome — never a byte of the archive. Because we store no archives, there is no storage quota on any tier and nothing to pay us for as your site count grows. One thing to know: the copy in your bucket is not encrypted by us; your bucket’s own encryption applies.
What happens if I go over my site limit?
Nothing breaks. Existing sites keep working; you just can’t connect new ones until you upgrade or disconnect something. We’ll show you clearly when you’re close to the limit, and the owner gets one email a day about it, not fifty.
Can I change or cancel plans anytime?
Yes — upgrades apply immediately, downgrades at the end of the billing period, and you can cancel anytime. Because every archive already sits on the client’s server and in your own storage rather than ours, cancelling never puts a single byte of your data at risk: deactivate the plugin and the vault directory is still exactly where it was.
Will it work on my hosting?
Host-neutrality is the founding principle. The connector targets PHP 7.4+ and is engineered for hostile shared hosting: chunked resumable backups, loopback cron fallbacks, WP-CLI support. Managed WordPress hosts, VPSes, and budget cPanel plans are all fine — and we will never try to sell you hosting, because we don’t have any.
What do SEO Health and AI Visibility check?
SEO Health crawls each site for the on-page fundamentals — titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt text, canonicals, broken links, structured data — and scores it 0–100. AI Visibility runs 28 AI-readability checks (robots access for GPTBot/ClaudeBot/PerplexityBot, llms.txt, schema, direct-answer content) and can probe what AI assistants already say about the business. Both scan weekly on Free and daily from Studio up.
