What it does

AI credits are the one currency behind every AI-backed action — a ticket diagnosis, a re-run, Security's Ask AI. Your organization gets a monthly allowance based on plan, and every credit movement — grants, charges, refunds, ops adjustments — is written to a permanent ledger, so nothing about your balance is ever a guess.

Settings → AI usage shows a balance ring, when it resets, usage this month by kind, and the full ledger.

How to

  1. Open Settings → AI usage to see your balance, reset date, and usage history.
  2. Every AI action shows its cost in credits and your remaining balance before you run it.
  3. Need more this month? Click Top up to buy a pack — 100 credits for $9 or 500 for $39 — through the same Paddle checkout used for your WPClientHub subscription. The credits land on your balance as soon as the payment completes, on every plan including Free.
  4. If you're close to your plan's allowance, use Upgrade plan from the same page.

Limits & defaults

SettingDefault
Monthly allowanceFree 20 · Studio 50 · Agency 250 · Scale 1,000
Cost per action1 credit — ticket diagnosis, diagnosis re-run, Security Ask AI, knowledge-base deep answer
ResetPlan credits reset to your plan's allowance each cycle and do not roll over; purchased top-up credits are untouched by the reset
Low-balance warningAt 10 credits or fewer, an in-app notice and an email to the owner
At zeroThe action is never queued at all — you see "Out of credits — top up or upgrade" rather than a silent lower-quality answer
RefundsA failed AI run refunds its credit automatically
Top-up packs100 credits for $9 · 500 credits for $39 — available on every plan from Settings → AI usage; credited on payment
How top-ups are spentPlan credits are spent first; purchased top-up credits are only drawn on once the monthly allowance is used up, and they never expire — whatever is left carries across every reset until spent

Troubleshooting

My balance looks stale after an action
The balance refreshes immediately after any action that spends or refunds a credit — a hard refresh clears any lingering stale view.
A diagnosis failed — was I still charged?
No — a failed run refunds its credit automatically, so a failure never costs you.
Should I top up or upgrade?
A top-up is a one-off purchase that never expires — it sits behind your plan credits and is only used once they run out; an upgrade raises the allowance you get every month (and your site limit). If you are regularly buying top-ups, the next plan up is usually cheaper. Only owners and admins can buy top-ups or change plans.
I bought a top-up but the balance hasn't changed
Credits are added when Paddle confirms the payment, normally within seconds; the purchase then appears in the ledger as a "Top-up" entry. If it hasn't appeared after a few minutes, contact support with the Paddle receipt — a completed transaction is only ever credited once, so there is no risk of a double credit when it is applied.
