Managing clients

Updated 2026-09-05

Adding a client, assigning sites, and the difference between a client record and a portal contact.

Browse documentation

What it does

A client groups one or more sites (and, once you turn it on, Help Desk access and billing) under a single name — the unit your reports, billing and client-facing portal all key off.

How to

  1. Go to Clients and click New client.
  2. Give it a name and, optionally, switch on Help desk access and enter a primary contact — doing so emails that contact an invitation right away.
  3. Assign sites to the client from a site's own header, or when registering a new one.

Limits & defaults

SettingDefault
Help desk access defaultOff for a new client — an agency switches it on deliberately
Contact invitationSent automatically the moment you add a primary contact with access on

Troubleshooting

A client can't see the Help Desk yet
Confirm Help desk access is switched on for that client, and that they have at least one contact with a sent, accepted invitation — see Clients & the support portal.
